NJTC faced the overwhelming task of handling 1,000+ invoices per month, a process which required significant manual effort to code, enter, and process through the Accounts Payable (AP) workflow. “Processing a single day’s invoices manually could actually take days,” explains Yvette Duque, Bookkeeper at NJTC. “The process involves entering, verifying, and matching data with packing slips, checking prices, and then waiting for managerial approval.”
 
Lost invoices further compounded the issue by increasing the time required for retrieval and keyword processing. Finally, there was resistance to adopting new technology, particularly among long-tenured employees who were reluctant to shift from established, familiar processing methods.
